under Morion's spell. Her name means 'black quartz'. The other mermaids of the
Silver Shore named her this because of the dark rock in the seas near Gramarye
on which she loves to sit and play her flute. Her music bewitches sailors, and
may bewitch you, too. Listen, one evening on the seashore, and you may hear the
slow notes of Morion's song calling from far way. In the shell she lifts high is
a tiny fish - it once brought a warning to this wild sea-daughter - but that is
another story. |
